Match Preview: FK Slavija - FK Sarajevo

The first scheduled match of the 1/8 finals of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina is taking place on Wednesday, 21 October, when FK Sarajevo is playing against Slavija as a guest team. The match is taking place at the stadium of Slavija starting at 15:00 hrs.

The match host, the team of Slavija, played very well in the first part of the season. They are currently on the sixth place of the league table with 20 points with five wins, five draws and two defeats. On their home field, Slavija defeated Borac, Čelik, Sarajevo, Drina, had a draw with Velež and Široki Brijeg. As a home team they were defeated only by Sloboda in the Matchday 3 of the BH Telecom Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The best individual player of Slavija in the first part of season is the experienced striker Darko Spalević who scored five goals. Slavija qualified into the 1/8 of the Cup finals after they defeated Rudar from Ugljevik on their home field with the result 4:0 and the scorers were Jovanović (2), Vejnović, and Crnomarković.

After the victory over Velež, our Sarajevo plays against Slavija as a guest team. The preparations for the match went in a good atmosphere and after the healed injury Adnan Kovačević comes back to the line up of Sarajevo. So far, Sarajevo and Slavija played fourteen matches in East Sarajevo.  Slavija won against the Maroon Club for five times and the last match, which took place on 10 September this year, ended with a minimal win of the home team. The total difference in goals is 18:12 in favour of our Club and our former players of Sarajevo Muhamed Alaim and Damir Hadžić played the most of matches against the blue and white team, for 14 times.

Let’s also mention that the main referee of the match will be Edin Jakupović.  Samir Spahalić, Damir Lazić, Goran Dujak, Elvis Mujić and Zoran Grbić will assist the main referee and the match delegate will be Lazar Martinović. The refereeing observer will be Alija Lizde.

Expectations: The striker of FK Sarajevo, Amer Bekić, stated prior to the match that he expects a difficult match in which our players must show devotion on the field.

“We are , for sure, going to have a difficult match. We must be ready at full and cautious and show devotion on the field and desire in order to achieve positive results prior to the rematch at our stadium”, said Bekić.

Weather: The participants of the match can expect a cloudy weather with the maximum air temperature of 10o C.
